At the end of 2015 LEGO removed from the market the most iconic space station of the Star Wars universe, the Death Star.
Surprisingly LEGO is going to release the same set with some visual modifications, a couple of new minifigures and a new box (now with the Disney logo). Lets look at the diferences:
At first sight, we can see some diferences:
- The Tie Advanced suffered some changes although it is identical;
- All the floors suffered minor changes;
- Some minifigures were replaced and the others suffered some design changes.
- Assassin Droid
- Protocol Droid
- Interrogation Droid
- Dianoga (o monstro da sucata)
- Death Star Gunner
- Imperial Officer
- Imperial Astromech droid
- Death Star Droid
- Imperial Navy Officer
The only minifigure image (non official) that exists is this one:
A única imagem (não oficial) que existe das minifiguras é esta:
We can see all the new minifigures and restyles of the existing ones. We can’t figure ou if some are really restyles or new minifigures. Some really look like new ones like Han Solo (both versions), Gran Moff Tarkin, Obi-Wan and Chewie. But we should wait for the official images to make that comparison.
And this is how LEGO, with a small changes, relaunches a set. Although is still one of the most amazing sets, i think the fans were waiting for something a lot different, at least a new approach to the iconic space station. This will probably affect the sales because the fans that bought the old one will think twice before bying the new just for some new minifigures and aesthetic changes.
The expected price in the US is $499.99 ($100 more expensive than its predecessor). It’ll be available to VIPs on 15th September.
