Has promised in the last post, today we are going to talk about the next 3 minifigures: Aladdin, Genie and Maleficent.
There isn’t much that could been done to make this minifigure better. All the little details are there inclusive the custom hair, exclusive to this minifigure, and the skin tone slightly dark. It comes with a lamp has an accessory and overall is a very good minifigure.
This figure disappointed me. Although there is not much detail that could been given to the body, it could have had a more suitable head. The first mistake is the color of the head and the “hat” that don’t match, giving a sloppy look to the minifigure. The second mistake is the that the hat is dull while the head is shiny, which gives the group a strange appearance. Third error is that the group head + hat does not work well together! This figure was a candidate to have a custom head similar to the original character. At least that way it would be faithful to the original.
There is not much to say about the minifigure, because in its simplicity, it manages to be a very elegant. The only 2 negative points are the alignment between the torso and the legs and the quality of the “hat”. Although the “hat” is a visually appealing piece and it’s the detail that makes this minifigure look great, it’s made of rubber which gives me the feeling that LEGO outsourced the production of this piece to 3rd category Chinese factory.
In resume, 2 very nice minifigures, Aladin and Maleficent, and a Genie that must ask for a wish to be saved.
In the next post we will talk about Alice, the Cheshire Cat, Daisy Duck and Donald Duck.
