LEGO Ideas Third 2015 Review Results

At the beginning of June, LEGO Ideas revealed the winners of the sets that reached 10000 votes between September 2015 and January 2016. There were 9 sets in the race:

  • Beatles Yellow Submarine
  • Apollo 11 Saturn V
  • Jurassic Park Explorer
  • 20000 Leagues Under the Sea Nautilus
  • Toyota Landcruiser 40 Series
  • HMS Beagle
  • Concorde
  • National Park Service Centennial Vignettes
  • Victorian London Christmas

From this 9 sets, Nautilus was a fenomenal set that wasn’t approved. Shame… From the 9 sets, the winners were:

Yellow Submarine

Lego YellowS ubmarine

Apollo 11 Saturn V

Lego Apollo 11

There was no statement why the other sets were not chosen but, in my opinion, factors ike complexity, estimated price or, more important, if a licence can be obtained at valid reasons.

Obviously the winning sets will have to take the special touch from the LEGO Master Builder and, although the final result will be identical, they will be different from the original.

The results were revealed by Hasan Jensen, one of the elements of the LEGO Ideas team.

The next revision is schedule to the fall of 2016 and they already have the 9 candidates:

  • Fossil Museum
  • Gingerbread House
  • Jedi High Council
  • Jurassic Park Visitor Center
  • Modular Train Station
  • Old Fishing Store
  • Particle Accelerator
  • Rolling LEGO BB-8
  • Johnny Five

From these 9 sets my favorite is the Jedi High Council.. It would be a set full of awesome minifigures that would look great in my living room.
